The Booe (Buob) name has been documented as free Imperial Knights of the Holy Roman Emperor.

The Booe (Buob) name is documented as far back as 1270 being a family of nobility in Villingen and many other Villages.

The Booe name is documented as The Kinght Buob as well the Free Imperial Knights over Upper Rhine, District Ortenau, Kocher and many other Villages.

The Booe's where large land owner and it is evident that with the vast amount of property along with having Lordship over so many villages that this family would have descended from a notable Celtic tribe 1000s of years earlier.

One of the earliest references to them is the cognomen Alamannicus assumed by Caracalla, who ruled the Roman Empire from 211-217. The alliance was aggressive in nature, attacking the Roman province of Germania Superior whenever it could and stopped the Romans from penetrating north of the lower Rhine and subsequently invaded the Roman province of Germania Inferior. The Alamanni were ruled by independent kings throughout the 4th and 5th centuries and it is possible that Count Booe (Buob, Bock) was a descendent of Brennus the king of the Gauls who sacked Rome in 390 BC.

What is fact is that the Booe is of noble Celtic descent bearing the shield and crest that existed well before the Roman Empire.

The ideal that Konrad (Buob) Booe, born 1260 carried a crest and shield into battle which displayed a goat, documented by W. Prindle in the 1800s is correct as did his father but this shield was related to an area and not a family shield.
The Crest and shield that displayed a crescent, inverted and centered on the shield with three six-pointed stars, one centered over the crescent and one below each point of the crescent carried by his son Eberhard (Buob) Booe born 1298, existed well before the Holy Roman Empire as a family crest and shield. Eberhard Booe did not carry the shield which displays a Goad most likely due to the change which took place as to which knight hood he took. Konrad Booe was a knight in the order or the Malta or Teutonic Knight hood and would have had the shield of the Malta or Teutonic Knights which was white with a black cross displayed on the front, he would have also been representing the area where he lived by a shield which displayed a goat on the front, he would have also carried the family crest and shield which displays the crescent and stars. His son was not in the order of the Malta or Teutonic Knights and so did not carry their shield, he has never been documented or listed as carrying the shield which displayed a goat but the shield and crest which he did carry was tried and proved in court during the 1400s to qualify for a marriage between nobles and was documented by researchers in the 1700s.
It is believed that Konrad (Buob) Booe died in battle at Jerusalem by the hands of attacking Muslims as he was defending the walls and so his knight hood in the Malta or Teutonic order would have ended with him but his knight hood as a free Imperial Knight would have passed down to his son as did his vast amount of lands he was lord over.
Eberhard (Buob) Booe the free Imperial Knight of the Holy Roman Empire not to be confused with the Roman Empire carried the shield and crest of his family name which was the crescent with stars which is true family shields and crest and can be used for personal display and or battle by any person that is a direct descendent and true (Buob) Booe name bearer .
The Booe family crest and shield that displays a crescent, inverted and centered on the shield with three six-pointed stars, one centered over the crescent and one below each point of the crescent is the true Booe family shield in design but as to the colors in this shield no one knows because the shield was found on a seal which is pressed into wax. The crest is said to have been the same as the shield with no more detail other then a few lines and perhaps some ambiguous characteristics around the edge.

The Booe (Buob / Bock) court is named after the old Horb, Rottweil noble family Buob / Bock whose house stood on the north-east corner of the town. The powder tower is also called (Buob / Bock) court tower.

The (Buob) Booe family of Horb in order of knights acquire vast amounts of property taking half and whole villages and kelp lands in their own names by keeping themselves secure with close marriages.
